In cPanel, Email Disk Usage shows how much storage each email folder uses within a mailbox, such as Inbox, Sent, Spam, and Trash.
This feature is helpful when a mailbox starts filling up and you need to see what’s actually taking the space. It shows which folders are using the most storage, so you can quickly spot problem areas like an overloaded Spam or Sent folder and clean them up before they cause delivery issues.
To open it, click on "Email Disk Usage" under "Email" section in cPanel:
Then select your email from the dropdown menu:
You will see how much disk space each folder uses.
You can click "Manage" next to the desired folder and delete messages by applying specific filters:
The Custom query option lets you define your own cleanup rules using Dovecot search syntax. This gives you more control than the standard filters and allows you to target messages based on size, date, or other criteria.
For example, if you want to delete emails larger than 5 MB, you can enter:
LARGER 5M
If you need to remove messages that were received before January 1, 2024, you can use:
BEFORE 01-Jan-2024
You can combine different conditions to narrow down results even further, which is useful when cleaning up large or old mailboxes.
