What is the Emergency Console?

Updated over 2 months ago

The emergency console is the equivalent of a monitor, keyboard and mouse (Windows VPS) connected directly to your server.

All Time4VPS servers include this feature by default and at no extra cost. However, this console should be used when the server is not accessible via a regular way SSH (Linux, Container and Storage) or RDP (Windows).

This access method is intended to be used in a timely manner and does not replace access methods such as remote desktop or SSH since these access methods are much faster and more efficient than the emergency console.

Problems you can solve with the emergency console

Here are some examples of situations where having the emergency console can really help you out!

Configuration changes

If you are making changes to the network settings on your server and you make a change that causes your server to lose the internet connection on VPS, it won't be a problem; just use the emergency console to access your server and correct the changes you have made so that it recovers the connection.

Access problems

Are you having problems with your usual access system? For some reason you don't know, is your server not allowing you to access via SSH or remote desktop? No problem, the emergency console is a direct access that does not depend on operating system protocols to connect.

Startup problems

Have you rebooted your server, and can you not access it now? Time4VPS's emergency console allows access to the server and checks the configuration to find a reason why the VPS is not accessible.
